Players Challenge is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. Players Challenge may collect information from our users at several different points on our Web site. If users have any questions or suggestions regarding our privacy policy, please contact us by sending an e-mail to info@playerschallenge.com or by sending a letter to Saturn Ventures/Players Challenge, 11301 W. Registration
In order to access member's only sections of this Web site, a user must first complete the registration form. During registration a user is required to give their contact information (such as name and e-mail address). This information is used to contact the user about the services on our site for which they have chosen to participate in. It is optional for the user to provide demographic information (such as gender), and unique identifiers (such as how they heard about us and how much they spend on fantasy sports), but encouraged so we can provide a more personalized experience on our site.
Contests
We run contests on our site in which we request information from the user on our entry form. Here a user must provide financial information (like credit card number and expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to complete customer's entries. We use contact data from our contests to send members information about upcoming contests and promotional offers. The customer's contact information is also used to contact the member when necessary for winner notification and prize delivery confirmation.
Social Security Number
If your total prize winnings on this site in any given calendar year are greater than $500, we will request that you submit your social security number in order to send you Form 1099, as required by the Internal Revenue Service. Failure to provide your social security number at that time will result in our inability to credit your account for any prize winnings that exceed $500 in any calendar year.
Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. Once the user closes their browser, the cookie simply terminates. If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site. The only drawback to this is that the user will be limited in some areas of our site. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site. Some of our business partners use cookies on our site (for example, advertisers). However, we have no access to or control over these cookies.
Log Files
We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
Sharing
We will NOT share aggregate demographic information with our partners and advertisers, if any. We will never share, sell or distribute any information collected on our site. We use an outside credit card processing company to bill users for services. This company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.
Links
This Web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we, Players Challenge, are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every Web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by Players Challenge. Players Challenge has relationships with third parties to provide games and services to its users. The user is registering with the third party directly; however in some cases the user may see the Players Challenge logo on the third party partner’s Web site. The user can see they are on another site by checking the URL location bar of their browser. Players Challenge will make an effort to notify users that they will be going to a third party partner’s Web site. The third party partner’s privacy policy governs the collection and use of information through their site.
Newsletter
If a user wishes to subscribe to our newsletter, should we provide one, we ask for their e-mail address and preferred delivery format.
Invite-a-Friend
If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we ask them for the friend's e-mail address. Players Challenge will automatically send the friend a one-time e-mail inviting them to visit our site. Players Challenge stores this information for the purpose of sending this one-time e-mail, as well as ensuring existing members receive credit for each friend they invite, that also signs up to participate in one of our fee-based games. The friend may contact Players Challenge at info@PlayersChallenge.com to request the removal of their information from our database.
Security
Players Challenge takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the Web site, your information is protected both online and off-line. When our registration/entry form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and/or date of birth) that information is encrypted and is protected with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). While on a secure page, such as our entry form, the padlock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla’s Firefox becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just 'surfing'.
While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Our employees must use password-protected screen-savers when they leave their desk. When they return, they must re-enter their password to re-gain access to your information. Furthermore, ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Every quarter, as well as any time new policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our customers' information is protected. Finally, the servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment, behind a locked cage.
If you have any questions about the security on our Web site, you can send an e-mail to our Webmaster at webmaster@playerschallenge.com.
Special Offers
We send all new members a welcoming e-mail to verify member name and password. Established members will occasionally receive information on new services, special deals, and a newsletter. Out of respect for the privacy of our users we present the option to not receive these types of communications. Please see our choice and opt-out section below.
Site and Service Updates
We also send the user site and service announcement updates. Members are not able to unsubscribe from service announcements, which contain important information about the service. We communicate with the user to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account via e-mail.
Correcting/Updating Personal Information
If a user's personally identifiable information changes (such as your mailing address), or if a user no longer desires our service, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove that user's personal data provided to us. This can be done by the user by updating their account information in the My Clipboard section of the site, or by sending an e-mail to info@PlayersChallenge.com.
Participation
This web site is designed for participation by those who are 18 years of age or older. ANYONE UNDER 18 MAY NOT PARTICIPATE. If a person under the age of 18 attempts to register on this site, they will automatically be blocked from completing the registration process through an age verification bump out mechanism. If we learn that a person under the age of 18 has registered on this site, we will remove all information related to that record from our files. If you use a bulletin board on this site, you should be aware that any personally identifiable information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other users of these forums, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these forums.
Choice/Opt-out
Our users are given the opportunity to 'opt-out' of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for the information. For example, our registration form has an 'opt-in' mechanism so users who join, but don't want any marketing material from select Players Challenge partners, can keep their e-mail address off of our lists. Users who no longer wish to receive our newsletter may opt-out of receiving this communication by updating their newsletter subscription preferences in the My Clipboard section of the site, or by sending an e-mail to unsubscribe@Players Challenge.com.
Legal Disclaimer
Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site.
Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post notice of those changes on our Homepage so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we would notify users by way of an e-mail. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
